No wiring harness for Duraspark II Dist.

Hello I just replaced the old 302 in my 74 f 100 with a later model 351M. the 302 had points ignition and the 351M i replaced it with has electronic ignition (Duraspark II) i went and bought the ignition control module, but i don't have the wiring harness. It's pretty expensive so i was wondering if i could splice wires etc... and just buy some 14 guage wire and make my own. I have a wiring diagram and it looks relatively possible, but the connections at the coil are where i hit a snag. they apparently clip on (from what i can tell from pics of a wiring harness). Any ideas about how i can achieve "making" a wiring harnes instead of spending the 120 bucks to buy one?

You can go to the junkyard and get the harness off of any car or truck, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, any size engine, from about 75-76 through the mid 80's.

Or, you can get a distributor from a old 429 with points,and it will fit your 351m.

I have also used a slip on spade connector to slide onto the coil with the pins. Just turn the slide on spade upside down. But the horseshoe connector you can get from the junkyard harness works a lot better.

Another option would be to use a MSD or similar ignition system. Mine hooked directly to my stock 351m/400 distributor and ran great. It was a nice upgrade over the DS2 system in my mind.

The horse-shoe connector for the Duraspark coil is available for pretty cheap from some parts stores; I bought one from Rock Auto last year. I believe they're a site sponsor as well. Here is the info from their website:

DORMAN Part # 85848 {Conduct-Tite 2-Wire Ignition Coil #D7AB 14489-H}
Category: Ignition Coil Connector

One more option is watch E-bay. I picked up the whole engine harness a couple weeks ago for $15 shipped.

A,
__$120?, A $120 for a new duraspark II ignition module harness?
The harness isn't even 6' long.

Please post a link to the websight, so I judge this "harness" to find out if it's really worth a $120 price tag.
