Just finished a 400 mile trip last week.. First one.. Drove like a 4 ton Lexus!! Unloaded, 78 mph most of the way with 'little' round town driving, and about an hour with A/C on.. Bit of a headwind on the way, calm on the way back.. I got 17MPG..Not bad, but if I had gotten 18 or better, I'd been a bit happier!! It's never enough!! I'm going to do the same trip next week with the Predator at 65HP tune to see if/and how much of an improvement it makes..
It will be better.........but...........ONLY if you drive it without a smile on your face
HOLY smokes that is a ton......well more than that.......I have 3:73
my registered comb is 37500. (17,500 truck, 20,000 35' gooseneck) truck and trailer weigh about 15000, and yes 35,000 up a 6% grade is alot! the sled at the tractor pulls is lighter than that!! and easier on the truck i bet

Slow down 5 mph and you will get 18 mpg. I have found that the mpg improves about 1 mpg for every 5 mph drop in speed. I even got 22 mpg once driving 55 mph but I can't stand to drive that slow every day. BTW I have the edge w/attitude which adds about 2 mpg above stock.

Thanks coglesby...
Yeah.. I figure 1-3 increase as advertised with the 65HP tune.. And I did get better MPG around town, but was very hard to gauge stuck in the commute traffic most days.. And it seems I'm always in a hurry.. Plus I start out with good intensions, and after a few hours of being good, or bored, I up the throttle some.. Ya just can't help it.. And out on HWY 5, speed is 70, and if your not doing 5 over it looks like your backing up !!! The price of diesel here fell 11 cents a gallon!! WOO HOO!!

Getting better MPG as miles add up
Seems to be sensitive to how hard it's driven and MPH (not unexpected)
Very pleased w/ MPG and everything else
Best
A/C and headwind will make that much difference. These things are as aerodynamic as a beveled brick.
For that single reason alone..............is why 80mph will never achieve the MPG that 65, 70 will.
This is so DIFFICULT for most top understand. I have driven a test loop of a hundred miles, and obtained 23.1 at 58. These trucks will get some phenomenal MPG (for a 7k truck) if driven and moderate speeds. I personally cannot maintain that speed……..to slow.
I’ll pay the extra cost to maintain the posted speed limit
