brake squeek and possible rotar problem?
I'v herd of rotars being uneven, when I'm slowing down and almost to a complete stop, I feel the pad catch hard then softer then harder then softer. I know i need to change my brakes soon cause the guys at les schwab said they were lookin sketchy, but what about the rotar?

The first indicator of rotor "warp" or bent rotors is a shaking steering wheel when applying the brakes. The wheel may seem to shake in one of two ways: it may just shake left-to-right or it may shake up-and-down. Either of these two and I would definately have to rotors "turned". This will "true" or straighten the rotors. If you are going to have this done I recommend going ahead and putting brake pads on at the same time. Putting a new surface against an old one usually causes premature pad or rotor failure or both! You may just replace the rotors altogether though, I recently had cracked rotors due to excess heat build-up as I an a member of the local EMS and run @ high speeds and then have to slam on the brakes due to traffic. I replaced my rotors and pads with the lifetime guaranteed kind. Both came from the local NAPA, the pads were ceramix and once installed emit virtually no brake dust (say goodbye to cleaning front wheels every week) they can be exchanged anytime you want for any reason! Both have held up under extreme heat (I've actually seen em smoking when I stopped) and no crystalizing or cracks (yet anyway)! Hope this helps.
