Hi all , i was sitting here , thinkin hmmm .... i wonder if there is a forum for Ranger owners !!! Seems there is !!!!
I live in Ireland and just got a new Ranger , oh boy am i a happy bunny , it looks great , it drives great , it is great !!!
Its got a manual transmition and a 2.5 Ltr turbo diesel .
What's the read here ? are most members in the States?
My bro ( he lives in Canada ) says that the turbo diesel is unusuall over there .
Eh i guess im just askin , it seems that my Ranger is an American model, the sterring is changed over and the engine , is that correct ?
I did notice that the fuel pump dont quite fit correctly ..
I guess i will post more questions , in the meantime any comments ?

How does it perform , bloody great !!! I had a 2.5 dsl van, it was sluggish , this baby aint , its got great pickup...
You can feel the turbo kickin in and oh boy , your gone !!!!!
I checked out the Ford USA site and it is pretty much the same as the US model ,but the trim is different .
Mine is the XLT Crew cab model,4by4, with , what i think you call a "half box" ? Not sure about that bit ...
This is what i want to learn.
I will check out uploadin a pick or i will put a link here for a pick if anybody is interested .....
In the meantime , i gotta go to bed , it's a bit late over here , and i need sleep , so i can get up and make money to pay for my nice ranger !!!!!

You have a truck that most people over here would kill to have. A small engine with lots of torque and good gas mileage. I'd gladly trade my gutless 2.5L gasoline for a turbo diesel. Sounds like a great truck. Have fun with it!

Can you teach your truck to swim and bring it over to show us?
Ford would blast all the other mfgs. sales out of the water if they made the diesel Ranger available here!

rangers in Iraq
I just got back from a tour in Mosul, Iraq, and the civilian contractors all had these funny little rangers that had turbo fours. Well, they said RANGER on the side, but they didn't look like the one I have. Guess they were euro-rangers.

Welcome to FTE,I passed through Ireland once,BEAUTIFUL country,rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.I guess if your lucky enough to be Irish,your lucky enough! sounds like you have a dandy of a truck,we never get the really good stuff here in the states.The oil companies own everything here,regular gas is $2.10 a gal and going up!They dont want us to have fuel effecient,powerful engines,especially a turbo diesel.I look foward to seeing pictures of the truck,and the engine.

TwoDollarBill , that's a good point , it could be a "smaller" version than the US model , i am not sure , the pick should tell you.
I have to say , it's the best lookin truck on the Irish market. The Toyota is pretty nice to , but the Ford won me over , on looks alone .Its not quite as "practical" as my last van , but it's more fun
I will look into teachin it how to swim !!!!!!

If Ford were to bring out a 2.5 ltr Petrol/Gas engine, they would not sell one !!!!! Right now the price of Gas here is about €0.98 a litre , there is about 4.55 ltr to the gallon .That's €4.44 a gallon with the exchange taken into account it works at about $5.66 c .
So you can see why the diesel is a popular choice , over here !!!!!!!!
