Hi Vin !!
From where im sitting , there's rolling concrete as far as the eye can see !!!!!!
Actually the rear seat is pretty OK , it is quite comfy to use . And if folds down so i can stack thing's there should i need to .
A turbo diesel AND 4 real doors? I must be seeing things. That's got to be the best combination of ideas ever! I wish we could get those over here...how much is shipping from Ireland?! Ha ha....enjoy your engineering masterpiece....
I guess i could try ship one over in bits at a time :-)
But , hold on a second ...... are you telling me that you can't get that type of cab in the US ? Like the home of Trucks and the Ranger .
OK the turbo diesel bit i can kinda understand , gas is "cheap" ( as far as im concerned !! in the US ) but the crew cab is pretty much the standard type of cab over here , it's pretty hard to get a single cab .
I aint seen a single cab Ranger in Ireland, some Toyota's , some Isuzu's and that's about it , their all crew cabs ....
For all that , i would like , if i could get , and afford one, a nice 2.5 ltr Gas model, hmmmm..... what a lovely sound them engine's make ...... i can hear it now !!!!!! :-)
Nope. The closest we have to a 4-door ranger is the Explorer Sport.....they took an Explorer and chopped the back off and put a rinki-dink bed on it. Unfortunately that means we'r eprobably not going to get a 4door ranger for a while, at least not while that's around.
It's funny, most cars over there I'm guessing are diesels, while the opposeite is true over here. Gas and Diesel are relatively close in price right now. Trust me, the 2.5 regular gas engine is nothing to write home about. Even the 3.0 like i have leaves most wanting more power. The 4.0 is the best by far, but like others have said, it will eat you away in Gas. So, haveing the power of a 4.0 with the economy of a 2.5 sounds pretty good to most of us right about now. To top it all off, there are folks over here that can do some amazing things with diesel engines and I'll bet they could do some magic with a smaller one as well.

Reason: kan't spel
That truck had to have fallen from heaven and landed on the lot where you bought it from. I can't think of a more perfect vehicle. A toast to our new Irish friend, a beautiful truck, and the best damn forum for Ford truck owners!
I have seent hose trucks in south america too. Anyone feel like a road trip? But yeah i would definitely love to own a turbo diesel ranger with 4 real doors. I have seen chevys with them and always wondered why the rangers didnt have them. I was looking in a magazine and it said compact pickups are the smallest market here recently. If ford brought this truck here, they could definitey revive the market because of economy and power alone.
P.S. i love the sound of diesels. Maybe we can arrange some sort of deal and trade engines. I have the 4.0 gas. lol yeah i guess i'll keep dreaming.
Don't ask me why , but i just love pickup's . Always had this mad idea that one day id get one , just did !!!!!
Anyhow , your takin to a Kat , who has a Ford Ranger, uses a DeWalt drill , a PasLode nail gun , has two pairs of worn out cowboy boots!!! , a really nice Estwing framing hammer, went to the US just to see a CART race , will be sittin at home on Sunday for the Indy ( Can't wait ) , am presently wearing a Coors T shirt( complete with beer stains), uses a Zippo lighter, likes TimHortons coffee, have a Porter Cable router, all US gear ....
Wow! Nice truck and the diesel is the coolest thing i've seen in a while. How long have they been putting that motor in them? I read this post this moring and have been looking at car web sites over there all day at work. Some of the cars and trucks you guys have i would like to see over here. You are still making the Galaxy and the Maveric havn't seen a new one of them for years.
WOW thats a nice truck u irish are lucky. Nice cat too.you would think in the land of ford we would be able to get a truck like that. But no luck Can you get some shots of the inside.
I just did some research finding out how much hp it has. only about 110 hp @ 3500 rpm, but 196 ft/lbs @ 2000. Thats RIGHT off idle!! i also converted the price. It comes out to about $40000 for the double cab XLT version of the european ranger. The FX4 II Off road is about $30,000. But im sure you could shop around and get a better deal. I didnt check prices in SOuth America, but they are probably higher.... Well who kows? maybe i'll check it out.
but could you import it though? what with all the d.o.t. b.s. and immisions regs. (it may not even have saftey glass) very cool truck though, wish ford would build that in the states for us! ive always thought we've needed a diesel in the ranger chassis around 200 c.i.d. and a real crew-cab, WOW all it would need is ..........to be available here. great truck!
Turbo Diesel Crew Cab 4X4 with manual transmission complete with a driver with beer stains on shirt..................
Greatest thread ever (seriously)
I am glad that you shared pics of your truck and a moment of your time to post here. Do you ever get to go hunting or fishing? That truck sounds like it would be fun to take anywhere.........
