I just ordered an F-350 XLT with the Powerstroke. I really needed it - I take the train to NYC and push my pencil. I guess I had to do something like a man.
Anyway. I plan to do my own maintenance. Oil doesn't bother me. The fuel filter changes I'd like some advice on how to change properly. My father has a Ford 7.3L NA. When he changes his fuel filters he has to crank and crank the engine before it starts - I guess pulling fuel through the system. I have to think that the starter hates it. I mean he cranks it for probably a total of a 60 seconds.
If the description can't really be brought across here where can I find the right read on how to handle this. I'm sure that it it won't light right up after breaking open the fuel system - but there has to be a better way to prime it up than with the starter.
on newer psd's the only filter you have is one that is in a bath on top of the motor.you dont have to prime it at all, this reduces the chance of letting air in the fuel. see ya
Changing the fuel/water separator is very simple. All you need to is put it into the bowl, install the seals, and put the lid on hand tight. Once you turn the key to kick on the glow plugs you will hear the fuel pump sending pressurized fuel back into the bowl. And it should start up without any problems.
And you will be saving alot of money. Besure to save all the receipts just in case you need to call on the 100,000mile warranty someday.
My wife and I are both from North Jersey, and would spend our summers in Belmar. We moved to the mid-west couple of years ago. Big change, and man to we miss the pizza.
I was in the mall underneath the trade center walking towards work and just 20 to 30 yds in front of me everything collapsed. That was the first plane hit. I ran out in what seemed like hours and was actually probably only 30 seconds. That seems to to all be buried now. The next 7 or 8 hours were just unbelieveable.
I feel lucky of course but sick at the same time. What comes of this is sure to be unbelieveable. Even now people are talking about how we will react - as if we are like a parent deciding how to punish a child. That is too high handed. I think there is going to be an ugly give and take that we all had better expect. Those people cannot be finished.
