I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the stull "package" grille sets. It seems like a good idea for a persion who is not terribly eager to do any drilling or cutting (like me)
The only thing is that these grilles are *extremely* expensive; approx. $400 for the SD.
Questions I have --
- Is this really a bolt-on install?
- What is the quality like, in other words, why is it so expensive??
For the money, it looks like it just saves you having to mount grill inserts on the stock grill. So, I guess it depends if the extra $150- $200 is worth the hassle or not. Check all styles available that fit your vehicle and year.
And FYI, not all Stull grills require that you cut/modify/etc your existing grill. Many are simply inserts that go over the existing grill once you pop out the blue Ford oval in the center of the grill. I purchased a "vertical" grill (had to be different than the majority, right?) from Stull. It fits fine over the existing grill. It took me about 1 hour to remove the stock grill, pop out the blue oval, bend the J-hooks, allign the new inserts over the stock grill, tighten them down and adjust into place so they're even. Not too bad for a "rookie" like me. You can see the grill in my gallery if you're interested.
