I am in the process of :replace the rear bumerp with a Lund fibreglass rollpan.
replace all the heavy stock rear suspension with a Comp 4-link and Comp Coilovers.
Cut off the roof and chopped the front windsheild 3"
installed one piece fibreglass front clip
Fibreglass doors no guts. fibreglass bedsides no internal bedwith a
tonoe cover. Battery and radiator place just behind the rear axle.sheet metal under body to improve aerodynamics and direct air through the radiator. and eliminate the low pressure behind the truck bed. No tail gate just a cool tubular grill
I dropped the rear axle 8" and the front 5".
No inner fenderwells or front core support.
I am hoping to get down to 3000lbs or less.
The truck came with a 360. I got a 390 shortblock from the junk yard for 150.00. It was cheaper than buying the crank and rods. Had it machine bored .030 over and had the rotating assembly balance. used off the shelf TRW forged pistons.
