One thing I have learned is that many of the mechanical parts are available at NAPA _ trust me buying parts at Case/IH/New Holland Dealers will empty your wallet in a big hurry. I too have found the www.ytmag.com a big help with general questions and on who supplies specific parts new & used. The "H" is a good little tractor - I have a good 350 that I went through a couple years ago. Its amazing how much neglect one of these things can take and still run. I've seen tractors that have sat for years with a froze engine and after being broke free run like its been overhauled - try that with an automotive engine and you'll end up looking foolish.
ive helped restore a Farmall B and an H, and the best source for parts ive found is at a company about an hour west of me its called Bates Corporation, and is in Bourbon Indiana, their website is www.batescorp.com
try www.batescorp.com for IH parts, they claim to be the largest exclusive IH parts dealer, they sell new and used parts for only IH tractors, theyre located in Norhtern Indiana, Bourbon Indiana
