Help decoding casting number

Help decoding casting number
I grabbed the casting number off of my friends "mystery" motor, th enumber was under the starter motor which i didn't quite feel like taking off, so it might not be 100% accurate.
I came up with 040H-8018-8A
The H was hard to tell, it might be wrong, i guess the 8's coulda been 3's or 6's too
He's pretty sure its a 302.
Does anyone have a table i could look at with the part number so i could check?

hears how I do it while roming the junkyards.
If it has 6 valve cover bolts and I can touch the 2 front intake bolts with one hand it's probbely a 302. If the 2 front intake bolts are arround 11" apart with 6 valvecover bolts It's a 351w.
