Does Diesel fuel conditioner work?
I know that most claim that..........however, tons of testing and I have not seen any appreciable amount of change............that notwithstanding, I did not add it for that reason. I use it because of the properties it does add to the fuel, not for MPG. It does so many good things that outweigh the MPG issue.
The thread in the 7.3 liter forum made for a good read. It shows that all PSD owners can share information that is helpful to any diesel engine, I'll have to check their forum occasionnally from now on. The posts in that forum brought to life the fact that engine noise and power response perceptions can vary greatly from person to person since this is usually measured by seat of the pants or by their hearing. The fuel mileage change sounds like it can be greatly affected by weather, initial fuel source, driving conditions, tire pressure, fuel tank level, etc... so they may also vary by user. I'm really confused by the people who lost a considerable amount of fuel economy while using a diesel fuel additive, but will chalk it up under the varying conditions catagory.
jdadamsjr,
Sorry you took my quote the wrong way. I was just trying to clarify the cetane boost levels, not the color of the bottle. I may see a light blue truck, but my wife sees a "perrywinkle" truck. Everyone in the 7.3 forum was calling it a grey bottle. It's probably "titanium" colored, we'll just have to ask the guy wearing the charteuse colored shirt
