I have searched for about an hour now, can't find the answer i am looking for. Somehow through the winter ice storm, the keyless entry key pad no longer responds (won't unlocks doors, interior light comes on though) to the factory code numbers, we never changed the code numbers, for our '98 Explorer. The transmitters (remotes) work fine, lock, unlock, sets to anti-theft,etc. Just the darn key pad won't. Can find absolutely nothing in the owners manual; have tried pulling fuses, disconnecting battery, swearing, kicking, spitting and telling mom and dad, everything but going to Ford, who i'm sure are going to want a minimum 1 hour charge @ $90/hr for a 5 minute job... Any help out there. First time user, sorry if i rambled, thanks for the help.

Reason: sorry forgot something
There has to be something else wrong with it b/c these key pads will accually always work with the factory code, even know you change it several times, if you change it once the factory code will work and your code a second time the factory code will work plus the last code you programed but not the first. You need the code in order to reprogram this, i think you best bet is the dealler unless someone else can help you.
Try locking the doors by pressing 7/8 and 9/0 buttons together. If the doors lock, then there's a problem with the module. If that doesn't even respond, then there's probably a connection problem with the keypad or the keypad went bad and need a new one.
