Do I need new shocks?

You may be able to get helpers at a local parts store. There are no Checkers in my area so I can't say for sure. I know both Summit and Jegs sell them in thier catalogs. Look in the towing or truck suspension section of either one. You could also check the net at most 4X4 or truck mailorder sites.

At 78,000 I would definetly look into a set of quality aftermarket shocks. If the truck is bouncing more in the front than the rear you may also want to look into a dual shock setup for the front. These are available from most lift kit manufacturers, and probably Summit and Jegs too. They will definetly firm up your ride but my also help eliminate some bounce. You didn't say if your truck is 2-wheel or 4-wheel, I don't know if you can get a dual shock kit for 2WDs.
