Rear Suspension

I just bought a '97 Expedition and have noticed a kind of clunking sound coming from the rear suspension when going over bumps in the road. It sounds like the shocks could be loose at one end. Has anybody experienced this sound and if so what is the remedy? I've got an extended waranty so the fix should be covered.

Rear Suspension

I recently bought a 97 Expedition an noticed a clunk in the rear end when driving over bumps. I took It back to dealer and found out both rear shocks were blown out. I only had 39k miles so they replaced them under warrantee. About your extened warranty, They may not cover the shocks. I work for a dealership in the service dept. and usually they dont cover shocks, but it wouldnt hurt to ask.

I had the same thing happen on my '97. The rear antisway bar pulled out of the mounting bushing. Ford fixed it under warranty. Six months later the other side pulled out as well.
