Chip and Trans Command???

I currently have the banks trans command on my 99 f-250 SD v-10 and am curious if I get a chip(superchips or diablo) if it will render the trans command useless due to chip also changes shifting points. I would also like imput with type of chip I should invest in. Any input would be great.

No, it will not render it useless. You do, however, need to make a note that you have the trans commend so the shift firmness increase won't be programmed into the chip.

The Superchips Microtuner lets you adjust the shift firmness yourself so you don't need the chip programmer to do it.

Ok I'm in the same boat, I've got a Trans Command and would like to get the 1715 Tuner, can I just skip that part of the programming for the tranny and it won't affect the Trans Command at all? My local Ford dealer said it would affect the Trans Command, but the way he said it led me to believe he was guessing and did'nt really know.

I called superchips and they told me that I would need to select the softest setting on the tuner or it would ("quote") "knock me out of my seat" what the heck, I'm going to order one and play with it anyway, at least I'll have a scanner in my hands,.

well when you find out let me know. The 87 octane is just a tranny shift firmness. Only 91 octanes make power differences. Let me know how it work out for you.

The chip and the Trans Command essentially do the same thing. You either use the tuner to increase the firmness, or the Trans Command, but not both.
