Engine noise
I have a 97 F350 7.3 4x4. There is a very annoying noise coming from the engine compartment directly in formt of me. It makes the noise when i am coming to a stop it is a vibrating or wobbling noise. It reminds me of the sound a bench grinder makes when you first turn it on or as it winds down. Does anyone know what this might be. Thanks in advance

Does it do it in park and racing the engine up to certain rpm's? It could be the fan clutch or something on the belt drive. could also be in the converter or the flex plate. How about a wheel bearing, does it shake in the wheel? There is my nickel.

I just tried it. It wont do it in park. It doesn't sound like it is coming from transmission.
The wheel doesn't shake. I only hear it right before I stop. I only hear it for about 1-2 seconds then it stops. Thanks for the input
