HI FRIENDS ! OK , GOTTA QUESTION FOR YA . I HIT THE HIGH BEAM SWITCH ON THE FLOOR OF MY 69F100 AND MY HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF . HIT IT AGAIN AND THEY TURN BACK ON BUT STILL LOW BEAM . DUMB QUESTION I KNOW BUT ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS
you can also test the bulbs if you have a volt meter set it for continuity and test the bulbs the center post should be a common ground and the posts on both sides are the power studs on is high one is low if you have continuity on one but not the other than the bulb is bad it isn't common for both lights to go out at the same time but it does happen.
I have a 72 F250 that did the same thing. For some reason I lost both low beams at the same time. Noticed that the glass was kinda smoky inside. Replaced both headlights and everything has been great since.

another thing may be that the switch isnt going all the way down, you may want to try pushing it a little harder, faster, but not quite stomping on it.
Another possibility here is the headlight switch. It has a circuit breaker that overheats and doesn't let the high beams work. It still could be your dimmer switch but the light switch would be more common. I haven't pulled a good light switch out of a wrecking yard yet that doesn't have the same problem you are describing. My '69 does this also.
Another fix for this is to do a headlight relay modification. There have been many posts on this and would be simple to find info doing a search. There are even kits to do it.
I put a new switch in mine one time and 2 of the contacts were reversed because it was a generic switch or maybe from another year. Anyway, point being, The result was lowbeams and off, no high beams. if its an original switch maybe its just time for a new one. Never did think that putting the switch on the floor was a good place, unless ford wanted it to get spashed with water and covered in mud all the time.
BTW I just made some jumpers about 2 inches long with crimp terminls from the connector to the switch to get the correct contacts hooked up.

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES FRIENDS I AM GONNA CHANGE THE FLOOR SWITCH FIRST THIS WEEKEND AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS . I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR REPLIES. THANKS AGAIN .
Its Amazing How Some Basic Tricks Can Solve A Problem. I Took Boogitys Advice And Stomped Hard And Steadily On The Floor Switch About 10 Times And Nothing Happened . I Ended Up Literally Standing On The Switch With Lots Of Pressure Then Switched It Back And Forth With Minimal Pressure. At First The High Beams Would Go On Only When I Had The Switch Held All The Way In. After A Few More Times Of Pressing The Switch My Switch/highbeams Began Working Perfectly! :-x22 Its Nice To Get Surprised By A Simple Task Like That Lol. I Can Now Use My Highbeams ! :-x01
well if the switch is still stiff take it out spray some dw-40 in it and press it a bunch of times till it loosens up it will also help clean the contacts. just remember to let it sit and dry out a while before plugging it back in.
