rear ends ???

any one here know what the max hp a 8.8 rear end will hold? i have an 86 capri with an 8.8 rear in it and it's held up to my 347 (a little over 450 hp) but i'm in the process of putting another 347 in it with around 650 hp with the nos and don't think the poor rear is going to hold up. what do you guys think i should do?

Scatter it, then buy a 9 inch with a custom housing made to fit your car. See the hotrod mags classified for multiple suppliers. The 9 inch, the "poor man's quick change" was put behind big blocks and will, if built correctly, take whatever your 347 can put out. Add the Detroit locker for manly two stripe burnouts and neat sounds when cornering.

i though about a nine inch rear but some one told me once that you could build the 8.8 pretty bullit proof. that's why i ask but i think just for reliability i'm gonna put a nine inch in it. thanks guys
