New to the post, glad to have found this site. Well i have a 2003 6.0 excursion, eng. build May 5, 03, with orig. flash, if i buy a predator what will be my chance it will load. I have no problems with the truck 13,600 miles now.Has any one gone down this road yet .
Ge-o-rpeous day here after torrential rains fro the last 2 or 3 days so we were all out playing with our predator loaded trucks :-)
If you've not been back to the dealer and don't have a flash after May 03 I don't THINK it will load... but since there is a 30 day trial period from Motorhaven, you can call them and ask them for a try...
Choctaw Bob doesn't have the latest flash and his loaded....
And on the Superchips thread they are insisting on a certain level of flash as well...
I somewhat understand their logic in that they have to have a base platform to know where to start...
But if you have to get the flashes, I can PROMISE you, it's still worth it to get the predator performance, fuel mileage, and responsiveness !!!!
Thank you, jdadamsjr i will try it and if i have to get the flashes i'll go in for latest flash. I see you have an 03 as well did you get all the updated flashes?. Once more thank you for your reply.. How did your truck do with the new flashes.
I just purchased a predator and tried to load mine, 05/03 no flashes and it would not take. Called tech support, said I needed latest flash , OCT OR DEC. Sent it back, not ready to flash yet.
I did have the latest flashes... thru Dec...
I lost the pilot injection on one which made the idle louder and lost a few miles per gallon on another... but they did settle down all the issues I could have had...
and so when I go the predator I had the latest "truck operating system" and the predator to HAUL some "stuff"....
the predator actually got my fuelage back up to an exceptional range around town...
but please understand I DON"T HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE MILEAGE OF THE TRUCK...
it is an 8000 lb beast that I run like a sports car most of the time...
I'm not **** about it... it's just the way I drive !!!!! I like to get where I'm going !
the coolant overflow bottle was overflowing and found the cap was supposed to hold 15 lbs and it was only holding 5 lbs... so they replaced it... and haven't had an issue since...
Well thanks, I'am going to see if i can get in to the dealer and ask for latest 03 flash.
If it will help on unseen problems. Thanks for the offer..I see if i go with the predator or superchips i see it'l need a reflash.
