Is there any way to reduce the wind noise around the front of these vans?
The first one I tried out as well as the one I bought both exhibit a fair amount of wind noise at highway speed. I'm sure it's a normal occurance but it's in such contrast to the quietness of the rest of the van. Has anyone found any aftermarket devices (hood mounted wind deflectors or others) that reduce the noise around the windshield?
Just as a suggestion, you might try a pair of those vent shades that mount over the windows on the front doors. Even if they don't work for you, they improve the look somewhat. The newer ones just stick on with very strong double sided tape. Nice easy 5 minute job. If that doesn't work, you can try the bug-air deflector on the front of the hood.
I think with a van, wind noise is the price you pay for pushing so much air out of the way.
Thanks Leo! I was hoping to hear that someone had tried something and found that it reduced the noise. I'm not sure I want to start experimenting just yet but your response is greatly appreciated. I agree with you that the noise is likely the price paid for pushing a large frontal area.
