I just installed my superchips 1715 tuner on my 02 f-250 5.4. I also have the K&N fipk on it and i took off my muffler and have a y-pipe with duals. I'm running the performance program with 93 octane. When i start my truck it smokes out the pipes is this bad or did I do something wrong
The Microtuner is not designed to run with X/Y/H pipes, mass air flow sensor changes, long tuber headers, head changes, etc. The air/fuel ratio is screwed up because of your changes... it needs custom programming.
I did not know that. the place i bought it from told me that it will run better and make more power with the other mods. When I return it to stock it doesn"t smoke anymore, will it hurt my truck down the road if i run it like that.
Thats right I took off my muffler and put on a y pipe thats 3 inch singleside after the cat then splits into 2.25 duals and I only have one o2 sensor thats on the manifold. The place that i bought it at installed it for me while he talked me through the install when I got home I read the instructions and see that you have to disable the fuel system if this was not done could it be the problem? Thank you for your replies.
