strange rattling?
A strange rattlng? Is that a rattle with a scrape. Rattling at a specific frequency? A clank or click at the beginning or end of the rattle? A buzzing type rattle? Rattle at idle, none rev'd could be almost anything from the relative insignificance of a loose exhaust clamp, engine fan, belt pully/idler or heat shield to some of the more serious items. More information is needed before even a probably and or may be diagnosis should be made. Get under it, let someone rev it up. Try to pinpoint where the strange rattling is coming from and more about it's nature. Or at least eliminate major components areas like torque converters and flywheels. I had a strange rattle in a 300 CI straight six truck I once had. Had it diagnosed as wrist pin knock by two mechanics, it was a Yoo Hoo bottle my son left in the glove box.
