All new Eddie Bauer seating color scheme, twotone seating surfaces changed from Medium Parchment with Dark parchment surround to Medium Pebble with Charcoal Black surround

Looks like everyone gets a black steering wheel, and the accent color in tan trim changes to charcoal from dark parchment.
Any word on center position shoulder belts for 2nd and 3rd seats or 3rd seat head rests. A 3V V10 with 5 speed auto would be nice. Also would need side curtain airbags. Add coils and I might buy another one.

No word on the seatbelts, but don't expect any changes.
Forget about the side airbags.
The Order Guide does say front coils on the 4x4. We'll see.
All V-10 should get the 3v treatment. order guide says the 4R100 with the V10, but the SDs only get the 5R110 (with all engines), so I expect the same with the X.
Right now, I'd say the X gets the mechanical parts from the '05 SD, but not the cosmetic sheetmetal and interior parts.
I think that I'll keep my '03. It has a tan leather steering wheel!
The one thing I found interesting was page 11 listed torque as 570 @ 2000 ... not 560. Hrm. Typo, maybe.
18" wheels look like they come with 275/65R18 tyres... which are 2" larger than 265/75R16 ... so it might be something you'd be able to retrofit to your existing rig.

The tan leather steering wheel in my wifes 2000 X is the one thing I like least about the whole rig. At 104K it looked like crap and looks even worse at 114K. The paint seems to come off especially on the top part. Saw a picture of a guys steering wheel in an Excursion that had the paint wore off on the entire wheel, really looked bad. A black leather wheel would be a much better choice in my opinion.
I like my interior color as well and would not like to change it to black (especially not in Florida!!!) My rig is completely black outside, so inside should be a little brighter...
Have the same problem with my steering wheel: on the joints the color comes off. Took it to my dealership and said they replace it free of charge (mine is still under the factory warranty).
$500 at Ford give or taken for a new one. I'm guessing this problem is one reason why there changing things. I guess an all tan interior with a black steering wheel would look funny anyways.
