Question headlight **** broken

I have an X 2000 limited. The headlight **** to turn them on and off is broken and falls from the dash often. I went to the dealer and they only sell the **** and switch together for 90 dollars plus 100 installation.please advice on a cheaper alternative.

Maybe you can get the billet replacements for cheaper. I know they have them for the heater *****, but not sure if they have it for the light ****. But they are the same as the light ****. I bet that the billet heater ***** are cheaper then 90 dollars.
But the weird thing is that when I was test driving to buy mine 2000 X Limited, All the ones I drove had lose light ***** as well. Now mine is a bit loose but it makes an annoying squeaking nose when I go over a pot hole. Even the heater ***** are getting a little loose. If you need some web sites that carry the billet ones let me know.

Actually there is a recall. Go see your dealer.

A TSB means Technical Service Bulletin. It is something Ford sends to dealers with tips and instructions to repair a known defect.

switch

Mine broke too. I flicked it to the left and it flew out the window. Luckily it was under warranty. I just wanted the 50 cent **** and they had to replace the entire switch for $70 or so. I bet you could find a X or super duty in a junk yard somewhere and just pull the ****...if not take the entire switch??

Mine broke as well and was replaced free at the dealer under warranty with 34K miles.....

Other option was about $60 through fordpartsnetwork.com

Some people just do not like free stuff. Even if it is real cheap.

My wife went to a dealer here in San Antonio,Jordan Ford. They told her to "forget it" ,that it was a internet rumor. Is there anything more official or " proveful"that we can take to the dealership next time.
Thank you
