i will be going to the high school national drag races this saturday. and i have to do a oil change any how. so is the K&N worth the 8 bucks? and if i run syn in stead of dyno can i switch back to dyno later?
It's dino, as in ground up dead dinosaurs. Kind of a joke. Dyno means dynomometer, a device for measuring engine performance. Note the difference.
I like the K&N oil filter for the 1" nut welded on the end. Makes installation and removal dead simple. I really dont think you'll see any advantage with the synthetic. It's mostly marketing any more. If it was me, I'd run straight 30 weight for drag racing, make sure your engine is good and hot to get the oil thinned out, then go racing. Then after the races, change back to 5w20 or whatever is recommended.
I don’t think the K&N is worth the $8, considering you can get excellent filter for about $5.
You can switch all you want between conventional and synthetic oil and nothing bad will happen.
