I jacked the truck up and removed the fron left tire and was going to repair it and thought it might be a while. Since I had the truck jacked from the axle, I decided to leave it on stands and put the stand under the left side frame. Well as I lowered the jack, the axle came with it and now my truck is angled on the stands. Did the shock just decompress? How do I fix this? Am I screwed?
The frame went up with the axle due to the jack. "OK" So then you slid the jack stand under the frame and lowered the axle & frame onto the stand. Now I would guess the stand & frame are higher than it would sit with a tire. ???????????????????

Saw over on another site where he posted the same info that all ended up well.
The way I gather it was after he removed the tire when he put the stand under the frame on the left side and lowered the jack that was under the axle, the suspension allowed the left side of the axle to hang lower than the right side (shock went to full expansion).
When he put the jack back under the axle and jacked up the axle to re-install the tire and get the stand out from under the frame the shock compressed to the length it should be and all was ok!
Yea guys, that is correct. thanks for the help. something just didn't seem right but once i got the tire back on and lowered the truck, it sat level. sorry for the confusion.
