In my opinion, and the opinion of most, yes. The only way to decrease restriction over the same surface area is to decrease filtration. It doesn't matter whether it's a paper, cotton, or foam filter, physics 101 says that the material has to be more porous to allow more airflow over the same surface. Although K&N offers a pre-cleaner, that defeats the purpose of using an aftermarket filter by adding to restriction. The Tymar filter gives you the best of both worlds, decreased restriction and good filtration. It does this by using a huge paper element as seen here:
I paid $109 for my intake and replacement filters can be found for as cheap as $19. If you want information on where to order it I can email it to you (not supposed to post emails or phone numbers of non-paying advertisers).

I dont want any trouble!!! So the Tymar uses paper elements?
Yes. If you want various opinions do a search on "Tymar" or "air intake." There's almost always at least 1-2 current threads on air intakes with varying opinions.
The prices of Banks are the only negative. If I was to drive conservative I see a slight gain in mpg.The problem I found is I cant keep my foot out of it and my mpg gets worse.Once you install a kit,you will think you are driving another truck.
