I just moved from Saratoga to Oswego area, about 200 feet from Lake Ontario shoreline (temporary, courtesy of my new job), soon to go to Pulaski, about 1 mile from east side of Lake O.
Hey! Pulaski? My Dad (left us last year) lived up there for some 20+ years. White house, red barn south of village on east side of Rte 11. Had a store of sorts.
Still trying to close on my house in Pulaski. NY takes to long on this in my opinion. I am starting to wonder if it was a good idea or not - 100 inches of snow in 4 days! Actually, I love it, especially since my 2WD 1 ton handles it just fine. It helps when you have 35 concrete blocks and 200 pounds of snow in the back! The best part is, I can still make it around, but work keeps sending everyone home, with pay! Even better, the wife gave me the green light to buy another Ford, as long as it has 4WD. I love her...
The reason why it takes soooooooooooo long to close on property here is the darn attorneys and banks. (No offense to any members that are attorneys or bankers) I work in a county tax office and my primary job is to read deeds from property transfers and make the neccessary corrections to the tax maps for the assessors use. I see on a regular basis that it is common for a closing to take 2 months or so according to the paperwork that is filed. There is just too much red tape in the matter and everyone needs to make sure that all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed.
Me and ameritaz3038 were planing on going to the G2G but on the 8th of this month his sister pasted away and me and him and the rest of the family helped his 2 nieces with all the funeral stuff and what not so right now we are strapped to be able to go so on the next G2G we hope we can most likely make it sorry about not being able to make it.
