Rough idle

I have a 79f-100 302 engine 2 barrel.this truck was siting up for 3 years before i got it..I have replaced the wires,plugs,cap and rotor.fuel filter and just installed a remanufactured carburator.I was hoping it would of came out of the box pre set and run smooth as silk but sighhh it does run better than before but I can tell it needs some tweaking..I know where the idle screw is and there is another screw under the fuel intake..not real sure how to adjust this one..btw I have blocked off any ports that was sucking air that I had no use for..I only had four hoses that came off so I know I had put them back on where they came off.Any sugestions? possible bad egr valve? I got good vaccum

There are 2 screws under the front of the carb. These are the air/fuel mixture screws. Adjust them 1/4 turn out each and see what happens. Keep doing this until you get the best idle.
