I searched the forums and didn't see anything on this. My 2003 F-150 Club Cab has a warning light for a loose gas cap that has come on. It's not a loose cap. I even replaced the cap with a new one with no help. At least the light didn't go off, I assume it'll turn itself off. It's a rebuilt truck and some flooding to front end.
I assume for some reason it's not building up sufficient vacuum in the tank. Maybe a loose breather hose or something about the filler neck maybe??
Is there anything I should look for before I take it to the dealer?

take it back. and run away
If the front end was flooded, it could be anything in the vapor/fuel return system, and could turn into $$$$$$ in diagnostic time.
most places will not pass it during an emission test
Start by disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds. If the light doesn't come back on, then the problem is fixed. From there, check the vapor lines. I believe on this year truck the vapor cannister is right near the gas tank, so check that too. A dealership or high-tech garage will have special equipment for checking these systems, that fills the gas tank with smoke, making any vapor leaks very visible. Just as a side note, don't try to fill the tank with smoke yourself.
Thanks. Isn't there a trick to disconnecting the battery so that it doesn't mess up your key programming? Maybe disconnect the negative first, or is it the other way around?
