Drive to Second Dwnshift

Why does it feel like I have geared up rather than down, when shifting from drive to second climbing hills at speeds in the 20 to 40 mph range..My truck is FX4, drove another at dealer and it was the same..better off leaving in drive.. Another thing I have noticed is that that brake pedal seems to mush to bottom of travel if you keep pressure on at a stop-sign. This was the same on the other truck I drove...Any one else noticing the same?

That's usually an indication of air in the brake lines, but it could be any number of braking system maladies.

I'd skd a visit to service.

Local dealer ck'd brakes and said it was normal!!! Reflashed pcm for the way it shifted, no difference w/re-flash...

The no power is 1st and 2nd seems like a normal for this truck, but it is wierd as heck, mine does it, like starting off with brakes on, no power.

It is different, and when you shift back up to drive it takes off like you lit a fire!! I guess you are supposed to just leave it in drive...Hard for a old trucker to get used to..
