I just bought a set of 20" x 8.5 wheels for my super crew and I'm now looking for the right sized tires. TireRack recommends a 275/55-20, does anyone know of a better fit from experience? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

And if the size is right, does anyone have a recommendation for a brand/tread design? My truck is more of the street/sport look, but I'm not looking for 10,000 mile rubber bands. I'd like something with decent tire wear, low road noise, and not impair my ability to tow my bike trailer. Any suggestions?
I put a set of Nitto Terra Grappler...305/55/20...on my '04 Lariat with no rubbing problems...you need to put the DayStar lift on the front first...great ride and very quiet...you can see them in my gallery...good luck and enjoy those 20"s...will make your truck lot totally diferent...Chip
is this the new trend? umm what the the older harley 150s run for tires? i would persoanlly get something wider if i was going that route, 275s wouldnt look mean enough from behind; but im sure they would really be expensive.
Very nice F150Texan! I got a set of Epic Stingers (made by American Racing). I'll have to post some pictures when I get them on. Do your Goodyear's make much road noise and where did you get them?

And thank you as well. Not much road noise at all with the Goodyears, and I got those wheels and tires at Discount Tire in Huntsville.
Discount Tire Company (America's Tire Company in some parts of the USA) is an EXCELLENT source for a GREAT selection of aftermarket wheels and/or tires.
Discount Tire here in Charlotte, NC is getting ready to put on my '04 F-150 Screw Lariat 4 x 2.....a set of KUMHO "ECSTA STX" 285/60R18 (vs. P265/6018 O.E.M. OWL BFG tires), "V" rated", ALL Season M + S rated, solid blackwall, Light Truck/Sport Truck tires. And in an effort to keep costs in line, they will mount them on the Ford "stock" Lariat alloy wheels that came on on my truck, which in my opinion are damn good looking as is!! Total "out the door" price, including state & local taxes; mounting; valve stems; lifetime balancing and rtoation; road hazard waranty with FREE tire replacement if tire cannot be fixed SAFELY; 50,000 mile WRITTEN treadwear warranty; and NC's tire disposal fee = $564.68....
SUGGESTION: Go to www.tirerack.com and do a "tire size" search for the size tire you are looking for. It will bring up ALL the tires available in your size and give you VERY specific information about each one of them....including a side-by-side comparison of ALL the tires in your size....and you can read actual user reviews on ALL the tires as well. I found this to be a VERY helpful tool when trying to decide what tire to put on my truck.
I will take pictures of my new tires and post them in my gallery as soon as I get them put on.
Hope you find this information helpful. Happy tire shopping!!!!!
