Yep. usually, the ones near the rear of the engine fail more because the heat is held in by being burried under the cowl.. Look for water that could be leaking between the hood and the cowl. If water gets into the plug pockets, it can fry a coil pretty fast.
Also, check the heater hoses to make sure that they are not dripping any antifreeze near the firewall. They run right over #4.

Is there a way to get the rear of the engine cooler ? I keep checking the lines and they aren't leaking so I don't have to worry about that right now but you say the heat builds up @ the rear. How do we fix that ?

I'm wondering if there is some way to run some type of ram air duct to the back of the motor for cooling purposes WITHOUT shoving water back there also when it rains?
