97 Expedition 5.4L
Are the COP's interchangeable?
What is the COP order on this engine(firing order?)
Is there a way to tell if a coil is going bad?
Thanks

Yes, they do interchange with each other.
Our new Ford COP’s, the Sultans of Spark(S.O.S.), have
been designed with both durability and performance in mind.
Please see them at: Ford SOS Coils
Quality was the main feature we stressed when we went to the
drawing board on these coils.
By the way, for those of you who only need to replace a defective coil,
our SOS Coils are available separately.
While we are on the subject let me ask a question? I had my first tune-up on my well running 01 Expy, and the dealership was trying to tell me I should replace the coils since I was already changing the plugs and boots...I told them to pound sand! With 110k on them and its running well, I felt there was no reason to change them.
Will I notice anything with new coils? Or should I change them?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Besides, the dealer charges around $75 per coil or $600 for the set of 8. You can buy a set of 8 off eBay for around $100, change them yourself, and leave the extra $500 in your own pocket.

The dealer probably did that thinking that more than likely, another coil would go out(common with the stock ones) in the future. And because it would save you labor(if out of warranty) since you have to remove the coils to change your plugs.
Anyway, yes, we have designed our SOS coils to improve acceleration and performance. They allow you to run a .065" plug gap, burning your fuel more completely.
