Hello all, I just purchased a 2000 F-250 with the V-10 and I am also having the pinging problem that I have read about here. Does anyone know where to purchase the factory fix at. It appears that someone should be making a simple bolt on fix for this problem. Thanks Chris P.

Are you talking about a fluttering noise? This could be an easy fix.
Price is relative. You bought a ~30K truck, 1500 on an exhaust is not much comparitively. Headers on my race car were 1K. 700-800 on borla headers and Y pipe is not a big deal to me, especially considering it is a engineered solution with quality materials and manufacturing that will produce the best results....
I think the biggest problem you'll see with a true dual setup is the horrible noise. Loud, raspy roar, indy car like. The V10 does not have a nice V8 rumble.
I have to disagree with you here V10MAN,all i know is my duals do not sound horrible. What sounds horrible is attempts to make a performance exhaust system with single exhaust.Yes they do not sound like a v8,but i have a low rumble putting around at slow speeds. You can almost hear the exhaust pulses thanking me for letting them out!
Now, simulated duals sound like crap.
My truck was still under warranty, You may look at Banks for new headers. My truck had the noise from new. It took Ford 2 mouths to come up with a fix. I have two 2000 F350 only one had the ping. The one without the noise is a Crew Cab. The other one is a Supercab DRW, go figure
