There are many reasons why I purchased my Excursion. I have many friends and together we make many long roadtrips throughout Canada and the U.S. I wanted a vehicle that could tow, but I didn't want to compromise seating by purchasing a pickup. And for the longest time, I have wanted an Excursion just because they are the biggest vehicles on the road. I'm not even compensating for a lack of something somewhere else, like many H2 drivers! Yeah, I'm obnoxious that way. But we all have to direct our feelings somewhere.

Why I drive and Excursion By quarterhorsemom

I have lots of kids, a few 6' tall or over. I am 6' hubby 6'2. I haul a quarter horse in a beefy trailer, I keep two bales of hay in back majority of time, I haul dogs, cats and rats and other peoples kids. I wanted something that was capable of hauling, fitting all of us and something that would intimidate the mufflers off of smart @#$ drivers. I got all of that and more (lots of repair bills and a second job to pay for gas) but life is good on the farm. I love my ex (thats Excursion not ex husband, so if you are reading this JayCee dont get all excited) I only have a few more payments and its mine all mine! I think my excursion is sexty and wouldnt really trade it off.

This encourages me regarding pulling a horse trailer. I do not think I can get the trailer that a friend owns because it is a fifth wheel. (It has living quarters in the front and has six stalls in the back.) I am not ambitious; a small bathroom, a bed, and a small kitchen would be nice, and room for two horses. But I do not believe anyone makes something like this bumper-pull, though the friend has indicated to me that he has contacts in Southern California that build these custom. I can just imagine the cost though. Oh well, it's all worth it for the Excursion and for the horses. In the meantime, I will keep dreaming.

I'm just hoping to get a part of the 100 million texus lottery tommorrow...
wouldn't that be nice ?!?

I tell my wife though " I lowered my chances of winning just a little bit last week, I didn't buy a ticket !"

Our exchange rate has been all over the map. It makes me reluctant to spend money south of the border, unfortunately. My mother has introduced me to a local trailer manufacturer and I might explore that possibility. Time will certainly tell. As for the lottery, ours are nowhere near the size of yours, but I still wouldn't mind winning.

I like that reply!

We chose the X for its interior space. We have 3 daughters, oldest being 5, and there was no other vehicle which offered the space behind the 3rd row. We travel into Mexico often and used to use an Explorer. But having our luggage exposed while complteting the entry paperwork rattled my nerves. That's reason number two. Reason number one is, well, if you have ever driven in Mexico, you know. Having the ability to see over all the cars zipping around you has its advantages. The only draw back is manuvering the narrow lanes with a million small cars zipping around you. And mentioned earlier, the diesel is a plus. We can fill-up on this side and not have to add fuel until our return.

We love this rig!

Talking

We bought the X because we grew out of a minivan (bummer) ! I really hated the thought of buying an X. But we thought it would be safer to have one. Can't believe we have it. Waited along time for this to happen. When I perposed over eight years ago I had traded my F-350 in. It killed me to see it go. But we wanted a house. Couldn't live in a standard cab w/ 11" lift and 39" Mickey's. Now I have to talk her in to some assories! Yeah, it's hers but, the kids think its a monster truck. It also fits three car seats in very well with room to spare. (We have 4 year old triplets) Love it!

4 year old triplets...... My goodness, you DO need an Excursion!!!!
My two kids, 16 and 10 drive me nuts some times, I don't even want to think what it would be like on the bad days with triplets.... Just wait till they start driving.....
My 16 year old son always wants to drive the Excursion. We helped him to buy a Honda Civic cause he won't be driving my rig or my wife's volvo alone anytime soon....
Enjoy.

Smile why

We just bought an X last Saturday. It was sitting right next to the mini-van my wife liked. It was the same price as the town and country. I now can haul my boat and camping gear and our 4 tricycle motors without having a tranny slip. My wife argued that it was too big but guess who is driving and liking it even as i type. She is. I guess I am going to have to by a freightliner next.

This "HOG" is the best thing I have ever bought. I like it. It is safe, comfortable, and the radio even works. Leather seats are a plus.
