allright i am missing a vaccum cap on my motor, im just wondering what effects this will ahve on my motor, i do have it plugged but some air still leaks out, it causes loss of power somtimes, im just wondering if this will prveent better gas miles, also, my truck idles at around 1500 rmps, this seems a little high, or am i wrong?? sometimes it even goes up to around 2000 rpms, what could cause this
sorry for the long post but figured instead of adding 2 posts i would just combine them
PHEWW im done for now!!
lol
quackhead!
The vacuum leak will cause the high idle.
I'm sure that it will also interfere with the engine management system, since that air coming in through the vacuum leak isn't going through the MAF, so the computer doesn't really know it's there.
