There are many of piston related questions. I would like to complie a list of pistons with all of their information including: height, dish or dome CCs and material. This way everyone will have a quick list to look at for their build. If you have some specs list them here.
Please only use this thread to post specs. Thanks!
RatS, heres whats on my short list, 390 cast pistons, ....Silvolite 1130, 1.76 tall, 3" x 5/32 deep dish, makes a nice truck engine. Silvolite 1131, 1.76 tall, flattop. Silvolite 1139, 1.66 tall, 2 5/8ths x 3/32nds dish, very low compression in a 390. SpeedPro, 381P, 1.66 tall, dishtop, very low compression. Forged 390 pistons, TRW (or speedpro ) L2291F, 1.776 tall, flattopped, very heavy. TRW L2292, 1.776 tall, with domed top, out of production & hard to find. Hypereutectic 390, SpeedPro (sterling ? ) H395P, 1.759 tall, flattop. SpeedPro, H304P, 3 1/2 inch dia. shallow dish, decent 390 truck piston. Cast 428s, speedpro, 354P, 1.66 tall, small .120 deep dish. Forged 428s, TRW, L2245F, 1.674 tall, .145 deep dish. TRW, L2303F, 1.674 tall. .085 deep dish. All of these pistons are slipper skirted and also have 4 valve relief eyebrows. DF
RatS, shall we add the KB 150, available in 030, 040, and 060 over, it is 1.78 tall with a big step for quench and a D-cup dish. Looks like a nice 9 to 1 piston for pickup trucks. Dinosaurfan
Guys, I thought a refresher on piston numbers might be nice, so I posted this to get this thread back up front. I would do a 'sticky' on it, but I don't know how. DF
Yeah Thanks Dino...I'am still trying to figure out what my stuff is going to be?? I think the new Probe's are 593 Grams?? Not sure..and the tool steel wrist pins are 153 I think..I dont remember the firm figure's..I guess I'll have to call again? LOL.. Oh well..
Why not just add it as a text link to the sticky already in place at the top. Would be great to have several things like this (piston options/app CR, parts mis&match(ID), rough dyno estimates, calculators, etc...) Could be a lot of cool stuff tagged to the main sticky you knowz...
since we seem to have alot of guys lookin for part numbers on pistons, lets see if an old thread can be dug up out of its grave and have the breath of life blown into it......a golem thread, if you will. if y'all have new part numbers to add, by all means. Some of these numbers may be out of production by now. But probe & diamond and JE can all make just about anything you need. DinosaurFan
Can we put a sticky on this ? I'd do it, but I don't know how.....
