In my '84 F-250 Heavy duty, Super cab my wipers are doing strange things. Low speed and intermittent died, but the wipers won't park either. Pulled the governor box and checked it and found nothing, even resolder all joints. Put standard High and low speed switch in and no low or park, High works fine still. Friend had a good intermittent switch so tried that after reinstalling governor, still high only. Do I have wiring problem or can a motor cause this? Thanks for any help.
The park switch is usually built into the cover of the motor. When it goes bad you dont have park, low speed operation, or intermittent. Sometimes a bad governor will exibit similar symtoms.
After consulting with a Ford mech that a buddy knows and he assured me that the motor was the problem also. So I bought a motor and then the next day the Doc's office called and I had surgery on my left arm the day after that. So I have the motor but haven't changed it out yet. I hope by next week to have enough use of the arm to change it out. I was told the not having park for the wipers tells you the trouble is in the motor.
