Intermittent wipers question

My intermittent wipers are suddenly no longer intermittent wipers. When the wiper switch is turned to the left, the wipers are on steady low speed. Is the switch bad?

You learn something new every day. Intermittant wipers were an extra cost option, so not all these trucks came with it.

Could be the switch, could be the wiper governor.

Check your wires on the plugs, Mine came loose did the same thing...But you should change the switch anyway since you have to pull the dash apart anyway.

Also, another thing to check is the ground between the switch and the dash. The switch must be grounded or the delay function won't work. The original switch grounds through it's connection at the metal dash.
The replacement switch will have a separate wire for the ground (Later models had plastic dashes).

If the switch or governor needs replaced, the 80+ units can also be used. The separate 2 wire plug (washer) on the truck's wiring may have to be reversed or swap the wires in the plug. Otherwise, it's fully plug and play.
