Biggest tire size info needed

It seems like we get a lot of questions on the biggest tire that will fit without rubbing so I would like to get a complete thread covering 2wd, 4wd and 4wd with a small lift, say 3-4". Thanks for the help.

I have a 2" body lift and 31" 10.50 BFG AT's on the stock rims. I had to cut out a small section of the fenders front and back for off-road use.

I have 235/75R15's (approximately 29" X 9.50") on 7 or 7.5 in rims. They rub a little on the sway bar (when the sway bar is installed).
I've tried the 31X10.50's from my Explorer on my BII and they rubbed some, but could perhaps be tolerated if one was tolerant of such things.

With no body lift, I run the 235/75r15. I tried the 31x10.5 from a friends F-150; however, when I tried a semi-sharp turn, they rubbed the fenderwells. I don't think that it's quite a smart idea to run them without a body lift.

I have an '89 4X4 with a 2 in lift on the back only.. i run 31 X 9.5's it rubs when the wheels are turned all the way. Also since i got new shocks that are a bit stiffer than the old ones i have been able to catch air without rubbing the inner wheel wells. But thats only if you land on two or more wheels at the same time. Out wheelin' i still get a rub here n there but its no big deal.

i have 265/75/15's on mine w/ no lift, its 4WD and i have no rubbing, even if i turn all the way there's nothing, i have stock rims, fixing to get 31's with 4' lift, and i think it would fit even for offroading, but i've found a way to do a 6 inch lift and if i do that then im gonna go for 33's

these being the tire sizes we've listed? Most tire retail chains go up to about a 265/75 w/ various rim sizes, some only go up to a 235 or so, 31's you can find at some tire retailers, and sometimes you can find 33's 35's and 38's, but most likely your're gonna get 235's or 265 as limit in height, it depends on the reatailer, i've never dealt with firestone, i'd go with BF Goodrich if you're wanting something that looks pretty good at a decent price, or go with Bridgetsone Dueller's they're nice too, and come in some bigger sizes
