Alarm system

I had my 2003 EB Expy in for maintenance the 1st time. While there I ran into the rep that added alarms and remote start etc.. for the dealer where I get service from. I asked about options as far as locking the door (Like can I make the horn beep onecs not twice). He told me you would have to get with the company that installed the alarm where I bought it. I talked him into taking a look at mine. After looking at it and showing me a toggle switch that I didn't even know was there and still not sure what it does, he asked if I had the remote start option. I said I diidn't pay for it and it wasn't on andy documentation. While I was standing there he held a couple of keys down and the truck lights came on the dash was lit but it wouldn't actually start. He said it looks like I might have it but he didn't know the key sequence to make it work correctly or might be hooked up wrong. I've asked the dealer to get me info on the company that installed it and still have not gotten anything back. This leaves some unanswered questions for me. Like can I change the horn sequence exactly what options I do have. I've seen questions pop up similiar to this one and users are told to read the manual...well I guarantee there is nothing in the manual about this. Also, I have never been able to disable auto lock. I can reset it but it doesn't work.
Any one have any advice, I know once I saw a thread that had a reply from a guy that seemed to know his stuff with these particuliar problems.
*Are there really that many companys that install different options with
more than 1 way operate the locks, alarms, remote start etc...?
*Any documentation on this anywhere?
*Any code anywhere telling me what options the truck should have?

Note: I trying to get everything I can think of for the upcoming dealer trip for warranty. I've gotten a lot of anwers from you guys and I appreciate it. I have chronic pancreatitis and every time I get going with this list, I have an attack. I appreciate the patience!

Anybody have any eperience with the alarm, remote start etc..?
I called the dealer Friday and they said it was part of the Ford Dealer that did the work. The department is called "Theft Avert". That's not what they told me when I bought it, also not what the guy I talked to at the dealer where I go for service told me. Not sure what to think now. What is the normal routine when stopping your expy's (03).
Get out hit the door lock twice and the horn blows twice, is that even changeable?
Once again, nothing in manual.
I also remember that I was told if it had a DVD, this "second alarm" function was added. All I know is there is extra wiring and thats where you get the remote start, and any other options. (Any available?)
I would appreciate any comments or descriptions of a normal procedure with other vehicles!
Thanks,
Jorg

Your best bet is to contact your original sales rep at the dealer you purchased it from. He will know where they sent the vehicle to have the alarm installed, where to get it serviced, and how to get an operators manual for it. He has the most vested interest in your satisfaction on a dealer installed item. Other Ford dealers have no obligation to you in regards to NON Ford dealer installed accessories. They have little information to offer you and just dont have spare time to do all the research. More importantly if they dont sell and service the same equipment they have no means to offer warranty work, or to send it to the proper repair source if it was farmed out to an alarm accessory installer.
