Hey everybody, I'm new here but the info that goes through is unbelievable! Allot of good and most importantly and unfortunately some bad. I recently purchased an 04 Expy NBX (loaded) for my wife and am in the process of selling my 91 Chevy Scotsdale Extcab 4x4, 6" lift, 35's, 5.7L (with all the goodies loaded in it as well) and spoil myself with the FX4 Scab/Flareside/BLK fully loaded to the hilt. I was hoping to order one from the dealer here but as soon as I said special order, the salesman (3 of them and one who I made the deal with for the Expy) all turned around acting as if I had just passed gas! they all had a distorted look on their faces. what gives? what I don't understand is that if you want a truck built the way you want it and you in turn use the dealership to get it for you, don't they still make out in the deal as well? The trucks that they order for the sales on these lots are pretty much basic and not what I'm looking for. can anybody give me a heads up on what is going down. Aloha
The destination charge should be the same as you pay in PA. Ford, as well as GM and Chrysler, spread the total cost for shipping over every vehicle so you will pay $695 whether you live 10 miles from the plant or 1000 miles from the plant. This keeps the price fair for all dealers.
I know the $795 is the same all over the continental US. My truck was made right here in Norfolk, and I still had to pay the $795 destination charge even though my dealer drove it right from the plant.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if it costs more to ship to Hawaii, and the consumer out there has to pay the difference.
Yes destination is $695 but the dealerships here make up for it in dealer-prep and misc. charges = 6K that is unknown to all except the dealership themselves. So, I can tell you I've been to Ford's website and chose all the options I wanted on my FX4 Scab which came to approx. 38K., with that in mind plus the destination and dealer-prep I'm looking @ 45K +- give or take 2K. The salesmen looked perplexed for a moment, a few walked away and left me with the guy I got my EXPY from sorta saying you have to deal with him on that and when I asked what was the problem, he looked dumbstruck and shrugged his shoulders and said why don't we go and see what we have on our lot. I was seriously thinking of taking a trip to cali and purchasing one there and shipping it back myself but I would only be saving about 2k for that hastle not to mention airport security hastles on top of that.
I was wondering, has anyone heard or seen anything bout the 05's? manual shift and/or diesel powerplant for the F150?
I ordered mine to my specifics. No problem. Destination charge should be the same for him though. If it's a mile from the plant, money earned, if it's accross the pond, money spent. It averages out.

:
There will not be a diesel offering in the F150 any time soon. The project was cancelled a while ago. I also have not heard anything about a manual being offered inthe 2005 F150.

Thanx for the heads-up Noonan.
Still, I'm debating on waiting for for the 05's. hopefully Ford will resolve the current issues some of the guyz are having. I have faith that a resolution is in the midst. (in a perfect world that is).
