Looking for a leveling kit that will give me 2 1/2 inches in the front of my 2003 F-250sd ext cab 4x4 with 5.4. I have read that some 2 1/2 inch leveling kits actually give you more than 2 1/2 inches, but I need 2 1/2 and no more to be level, any input on different kits and what they really did as far as lift would be appreciated.
Check out one of the kits that re-locates the factory springs with a bracket in the front and longer shackles. Then you KNOW the lift you'll get and still have the factory ride!
bds make a nice leveling kit. got one on mine for the bigger tires. sorry no pics yet, scanner broke. soon though. good luck. got a v10 so front is light, nice ride though.
Let alone they are illegal in some states,
When used on the front axle, blocks are subjected to increased side loads when cornering, which can cause them to fail by “rolling out” from under the springs. This, in turn, will cause a loss of vehicle control. Most blocks are tapered. If the tall end is installed facing towards front-of- vehicle, it worsens caster angle; if the tall end faces rear it worsens driveshaft angle. Most factory front springs are fairly weak. Blocks increase the leverage load on these already weak springs which really compounds spring /axle wrap-up,and amount of tourqe when steering.
I don't know what an x spring is, and I was speaking of a hanger/shackle install. I have done them on other vehicles and I would rate them as pretty easy. I just didn't know if there was anything unexpected on a 250.
