Does anyone know of a good Ford technician that I can contact that might be able to help me on a few concerns re: a power stroke diesel. I have talked to a few people but its like because it isn't a brand new/original truck no-one seems interested in helping. It is a 1987 that I have done a power stroke diesel conversion and having a few problems with the transmission/rear-end.
In the mean time does anyone out there have a power stroke diesel with an automatic that can tell me under normal exhilaration what the shift points are. What I seem to be up against is under regular exhilaration my truck seems to shift into overdrive at a very low speed. If I exhilirate heavily it seems to wind up and shift better.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of a technician that would be helpful please forward that info also.
Do you know the box code of the PCM in your truck? My box code is TEE5, and the shift characteristics suck. It seems to have a lot of power, especially when you hammer it, but I don't like the shift points. I fixed my problem by going to a Diablo Delta chip, and using box code TDE0. You automatically get the shift characteristics of the better code, and also get improved power. This particular chip has the feature of a toggle switch, which allows me to switch, on the fly, between two different power levels of the TDE0 program. One is for an increase of 54hp, the other is for 100hp. Both have the improved shift characteristics, it's just that the 54hp program is fun to drive, and the other is really fun to drive!!. If your problem is a funky box code, this is one solution. This website sells them, by the way.
I hope this helps.
