Can you purchase the additive and test strips someplace besides the dealership or the net? I asked at the local AutoZone and they had no idea what I was talking about.(typical for this store on most any issue)
International has the test strips and additive. someone a while back on this board said that napa sales the test strips. Ford doesn't sale the strips eather and thay don't know what thay are or how to use.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-02 AT 05:35 PM (EST)]Besides International, a lot of diesel shops carry them. NAPA does sell test strips, but I use the Fleetguard ones available through Diesel Injection Service. I hope this helps.

I ran into the same thing, none of the auto car parts places had a clue as to what I was talking about, kept shoving the freeze point checker at me.
I finally went to a local diesel mechanic that has worked on my truck and he had the fleet guard test strips for a buck, he tested and added a bottle of additive for $5 (and included 3 test strips)
The NAPA strips are for GM PenCool coolant and won't work with the Ford stuff. I think the Cummins store sells the strips as well. You are looking for DCA4 or FW-16 additive.
