Coolant test strips

Where can I get the coolant additive test strips, with out ordering them on line?? Does NAPA, Autozone, ect. have them? Did anybody else got them from an auto parts place? Sorry I placed this post earlier on another forum, by mistake I thought I was on the 99 to 03 forums.........

I would like to know also. I've tried the IH dealer and they looked at me like I was an alien.

Got mine on order already! Thanks

Make sure when you do the online search at NAPA you enter the part number as
FIL 4106 with the space between the L and 4 or it won't show any results.

NApa has them here but the New Holland dealer has them for free on his parts counter so I get mine there.

i got the weird look from my local ford service manager too. told me they just use a normal hydrometer (sp?) with the floating ***** to tell if coolant is ok. what do the test strips tell actually.

i changed to the rotella red koolaid, so i should be good to go, but was curious.

The NAPA strips are for the NAPA additive. They don't measure all of the same parameters as the IH or Ford strips. I use the NAPA additive and test strips and they always read ok. I am going back to the Ford juice and strips soon.

The test strips tell if you have enough additive left to prevent electrolysis in the cooling system. The electrolysis is a real issue on wet sleeve engines like the 7.3 diesel and can cause some expensive repair bills. There is a chart on the pouch the test strip comes in that tells you if your system needs additive put in it. WOrks like a ph strip by color.

I just got a bottle of test strips from IH for $45.fleetgaurd makes them its kit#CC2602.The fliud is also fleetgaurd #DCA60L.The strips you get from the auto parts stores seem to only test for PHlevels. The fleetgaurd strips,Which is what International uses to test our engines.Test for Molybdate(whatever that is)and nitrates. The Car quest stips were telling me all was ok then I bought the rite ones and found. My engine wasnt being protected from cavitation.Do not make the same mistake.Go to IH and get the fleetgaurd stips and fluid.By the way the strip kit is nothing more that a bottle of 50 stips and instuction. But a must have.
