While I recently bought a new 2004, my old black 2000 with 120000+ miles could still turn heads going down the road. I probably averaged washing it, drying, and applying liquid glass about every 4 to 5 weeks. Over the years I have tried different waxes and polishes, but I have always come back to the Liquid Glass. Goes on easy and comes off easy....even if you are in some direct sunlight.
there is none better than liquid glass and no elbow grease
I've been using "New Finish2000" for years and it is really easy to get on & off. I was at a gas station last year & the guy started to lean on the side of my Bronc while we were talking and slid off sideways. He said "what the hell you got here"?

I've used all products mentioned over the years. Zymol is the best "wax" on the market-it has the highest carnuba content. Last year when I bought my Super Duty I decided to try Zaino Bros-nothing compares to the shine except maybe Zymol (if you use it every 2 weeks). The Zaino products shine forever. In addition, if you need advise, you call and talk to Sal Zaino himself and he has always had the right answer for me. I use the optional hardener with the Zaino so that I can wipe it off as fast as I put it on.
If you really want to hear some people that are as **** am I am about their vehicles, you need to check out http://www.autopia.org/
It is a forum about detailing...... and do they have preferences on waxes etc!!!!!!
Really good info there about the entire cleaning process.
But what I really want to know is how everyone reaches the roof on the CC?
I'm not short but that is a long reach. Step ladders? What do you use?
I have a ladder that gets me half way. I also step on part of the grill in front of the windshield. Since I do not have a camper shell I can reach to 3/4 to the front. I am not sure what I am going to do when I get the camper shell.
Carnuba is not as good as Synthentic Polymers. The best stuff on store shelfs is Meguiar's NXT Tech wax. I used both Zymol and Zaino, they are a 3rd and 2nd best.
Meguiars NXT goes on easy and comes off easy. Shine is unreal. Finish will be so slippery, like a babys bottom. And it last.
Well, I'll jump in here. As far as over waxing, if you use a cleaner wax, or a prewax cleaner, (slightly abrasive) you can eventually wear through the paint, especially on high spots. If you stay off the edges you'll be ok. It would take a long time to wear through.
On my 86 F150, I use mothers carneauba cleaner wax, the hard paste, not the liquid. Paste is harder to put on, but seems to last longer and be more duarable on a daily driver. The original black paint is a little tired, but it keeps it looking good.
Just this weekend I waxed my 67 stang. I used the mothers 3 step. It didn't even look bad before I washed it, never mind waxed it, but by the time I was done it had a showcar shine! I used pure liquid carneauba wax for the final coat, after the sealer/glaze and prewax cleaner. I was supprized to see I removed a little oxidation with the cleaner.
How should I prevent oxidation from forming? wax more frequently? I usually wax the car and truck once a month, but I had let the car go sence the fall, but it has been in the garage.
Well, I just did the $100 5-star shine. I will let you guys know how it fares. Up till now I have been using NU Finish (after 2 months the water was still beading up when I started to wash the truck with 5-star). At times like this I wish I drove my wife's Honda. Her shine takes 30 min, my truck took 4 hours. The 5-star is suppose to last at least 150 auto washings vs the Nu finish's 50. I guess we will see.
Isn't 5 star shine just PTFE? Which is Teflon, which is a solid? How would this feed your paint? I don't see Teflon giveing you a deep shine. I wonder how they got a solid to stay on the paint. Is this stuff have any other abrasives in it?
They say the shine takes 48 hours to fully develop. It looked as good as Nu Finish right after buffing. I will check the truck out tomorrow to see how good it is. As for getting a solid to stick it probably has to do with the 2 step wash. First with a neutral PH solution then a polarity wash you let dry on the paint. Then a quick rinse and dry. It left a dull film on the truck that was partially wiped when I dried the truck.
I assume you mean feel not feed right? It felt slick just like the Nu Finish.
I have some left over I wonder if I should put a 2nd coat on the truck. They say the bottle should be enough for a large SUV.
