Boost Question

Well I got my gagues and installed them. The problem is I heard that the boost gague is suposed to read pressue at idle but mine reads "0", under hard acceleration the gague reads between 10 and 15. Is this right or did I hook it up in the wrong location.I hooked it up with a "T" connector to the line that connects the intake and MAP sensor, I think. Does any one have a picture of where a boost gague would hook up.

Sounds right to me. Mine reads -0- at idle, but jumps up a lot higher under accelleration, but then again I have a few other mods.

Yep - you got it right - no boost at idle! T-ing into the MAP sensor line is a lot easier than drilling and tapping into the intercooler piping.

Mine will go up to 18 if I pounce on it. Ideal or smooth running 0. I drilled and tapped the Y-pipe. Talk about nervous, but I followed directions off another site and was successful, that and tapping for the pyrometer. The map sensor would of been nice to of done though.

Thanks guys, I really thought I had something wrong. I still thought is was a little low under acceleration but I didnt get to stomp on it to much, the speed limit on theses roads is 40 I cant afford another ticket. Going to take it on the highway tommorow and see, I will let you guys know what happened. Thanks again for your help.

I drilled and tapped the plug that replaced my intake air heater on my '01 to install my boost line fitting. My highest boost reading with my SCMT set at 60 hp and the 10k mod is 30 psi. My EGTs pegged at 1400, so I had to back out of the throttle. I have the MAP line regulated, so it didn't defuel. I was impressed to see such a high boost with the Microtuner on the low setting. I am going to try the 80 hp setting and see what happens. Really need an inexpensive free flowing exhaust. Any suggestions?
