I just install a pod on my 1999 F-150 4x4 and here's what I found:
I used the "Autometer" gages and pod which I used an Oil Pressure and Water Temp.
I really like it, for those sitting next to me at a stop light they think "Boost and NOS pressure" what the heck---lol.
One thing I want to pass on is you need to maintain the gage sensor that are installed by the factory because the computer reads them and uses the information.
What I did was "T" off and I run both sensors. The gages you buy come with them so it's not that hard.
Another thing is I wouldn't go with more than 2 gages on the pod because three would be to much "In-Your-Face". They do get close to you.
Good luck ---enjoy

I just looked at your gallery and saw you have a lightning----how nice. You should look at "Boost and Fuel air mix gages" that would be hummmm
I lived in Conn before---you should have fun openning that up once and a while huh?
I have a 94 lightning, and I installed the Auto Meter 3 gauge pod with mechanical oil pressure, coolant temp, and trans temp. I put the trans temp gauge in there because I already burnt up one E-40D due to a clogged tranny cooler.
Auto Meter supplies a fitting that welds into a hole you drill in the tranny oil pan. I pulled the pan, located a suitable spot to mount the temp probe(check clearances before you drill!!!), drilled the hole, screwed the fitting in, had a buddy braze the fitting into the pan to assure a permanent leak-free seal, installed the probe, and ran all of my wiring. The installation is not hard, just time consuming. If you do not have the brazing/welding skills/equipment I would suggest getting a local shop to do it.
Look at my gallery, I have a pic of a 3 gauge pod on my F-350 (trans temp, boost and egt) I would think you want to figure out which parameters are critical for you to measure, decide how many that is and choose gauges and pods accordingly. The third gauge isn't in my face, although the light kit was awful bright before I trimmed more load in the dimmer circuit.
There are a lot of cool gauge packages out there, and some high quality parts will get spendy - make sure the investment gives you some needed info, the cool factor is a given
